Nick Lowe MSc is a highly qualified and experienced acupuncture practitioner based in Ivybridge South Devon. He has undertaken extensive further clinical training in the UK, USA and China, studying with many of the world’s leading experts in fields of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. 

Nick combines his use of traditional techniques and skills with a comprehensive understanding of modern anatomy, pathology and the latest scientific research. Using a practical ‘hands-on’ approach, Nick is adept at finding the root of your pain or issue. He is a results driven practitioner and combines the use of different therapies within an individualised treatment plan to try to achieve the best results.

Nick is a general acupuncture practitioner and sees a wide variety of health issues in his clinic. He most commonly works with sports injuries, musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain. His Masters degree also focussed on the role of acupuncture for mental health and anxiety.

Drawing from both modern nutritional research and longevity science, as well as the traditional healthcare practices and wisdom of East-Asian medicine, Nick can guide you in making positive healthy lifestyle choices specifically focused on helping your health issues.

Nick is also qualified Tai Chi/Qi Gong teacher and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt. He has practiced these arts alongside Yoga and Meditation for many years which have helped develop an in-depth understanding of anatomy and body structure, as well as the pivotal role that mindfulness and our mental and emotional states play in our health and illnesses.

Research

Nick is also an active acupuncture researcher as well as a practitioner. He is the lead researcher at the ACU-Track Clinical Registry and has been awarded a Junior Research Scholarship from the Society for Acupuncture Research (SAR).

Nick routinely records and monitors patient outcomes in his practice. This helps ensure that patients are making genuine progress and getting meaningful improvements for their health complaints. Nick ensures that his clinical practice is always informed by the latest scientific research and evidence.
